Scotland vs Pakistan 1st T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips With Playing 11

Who Will Win Scotland vs Pakistan 1st T20?

Pakistan are to conclude their tour of the United Kingdom with a two-match T20 international series in Scotland  against the hosts. The first of those encounters will be played on June 12 at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh. Live action is scheduled to begin at 4 PM local time.

Scotland vs Pakistan 1st T20 Prediction

Scotland stunned England in the one-off ODI on Sunday and they will be taking a lot of confidence from that win. And they will be playing at a venue where they have played their last game just a couple of days back. However, they have lost two out of the three T20 internationals here; they were beaten by Netherlands and Afghanistan in the last two matches. The hosts racked up a humongous total against England but it will not be easy doing the same against the stronger bowling attack of Pakistan. The tourists have the momentum with them with wins in their last five T20Is and we expect them to secure a crushing win in this match.

Toss Prediction

The recent one-day international between Scotland and England at the Grange Cricket Club produced a run fest with both teams scoring in excess of 350 which shows that the wicket here is nothing less than a belter. And also since six of the last eight international fixtures (one T20I and seven ODIs) at this venue have been won by the side batting first, the team that wins the toss in this match will probably elect to bat first.

Scotland

Team News

Scotland have made a couple of changes to their squad from the Sunday's one-off ODI against England. In place of all-rounder Michael Jones and batsman Preston Mommsen, the selectors have brought in uncapped left-arm spin bowler Hamza Tahir and Craig Wallace, the wicket-keeper batsman who last played a T20 international last year in January. Their historical win in that ODI might tempt the team to stick with the same line-up for this game.

Key Players

Skipper Kyle Coetzer is the leading run-getter for Scotland in T20 internationals while Calum MacLeod and Richie Berrington too are amongst their top five batsmen in this format. MacLeod blasted an unbeaten 140 from 94 balls in the recent ODI against England and the team will hope that he continues his good form in T20 cricket as well. Safyaan Sharif and Alasdair Evans are the main threats in Scotland's pace attack. While the former has taken the most T20I wickets for the side, the latter has six wickets from three T20Is at this ground. Left-arm spinner Mark Watt who claimed impressive figures of 3-55 in 10 overs in the England ODI is another bowler to watch out for.

Recent Form

Scotland have won four of their past five T20 internationals, including three out of the four they have played most recently. Their previous T20I action came last year in January at the Desert T20 Challenge in the UAE. They beat Hong Kong, Netherlands and Oman in their first three matches respectively but lost to Ireland by 98 runs in the semi-final.

Scotland Predicted Playing 11

Pakistan

Team News

Except batsman Babar Azam who had earlier injured his hand in the Lord's test match against England, Pakistan have named the same squad for this series that defeated the West Indies at home two months ago. Azam has been replaced in the side by batting all-rounder Haris Sohail. The selectors may have to choose between Sohail and Ahmed Shehzad while Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali are both expected to feature in this match.

Key Players

Pakistan, in the absence of Babar Azam, will rely heavily on Hussain Talat, Asif Ali, Shoaib Malik and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to deliver the goods with the bat. Shoaib is leading the run-charts for the side in the shortest format and he will be the key man in the middle order. Talat finished as the second best batsman at an average of 67.50 in the last T20I series against the West Indies and he will be expected to play a good knock here. Mohammad Amir and Shadab Khan took five wickets each in that series. The former has taken the most T20 wickets for Pakistan and will be the main weapon in this pace attack while the latter is currently second in the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers with 24 wickets in 16 matches. Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz has been doing very well in the domestic circuit and he too could cause problems for the Scottish batsmen.

Recent Form

Pakistan have been showing top form in the shortest format, winning nine of their past ten matches. After a 3-0 clean sweep against Sri Lanka last year in the UAE, they started this year off with a 2-1 win over New Zealand in New Zealand before whitewashing the West Indies 3-0 at home in their last T20I series. Pakistan have won each of their last five 20-overs fixtures quite convincingly.

Pakistan Predicted Playing 11

Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad/Haris Sohail, Hussain Talat, Asif Ali, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed (c/wk), Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir
